Memories Pizza in Walkerton will eventually reopen, co-owner Crystal O’Connor told FOX Business News on Thursday night, April 2.
The business became the target of widespread Internet backlash after O’Connor said in a news story that Memories Pizza would not cater a same-sex wedding because she and her family are Christians and their faith doesn’t support same-sex marriage.
She also said that they would not deny service to anyone who came in to dine at the restaurant. The business closed on Wednesday, April 1.
Thousands of negative comments were posted on the business’s Facebook and Yelp pages and a fake website purporting to belong to Memories Pizza displayed pornography and lewd commentary. Walkerton Police are investigating a threat on Twitter sent by a Concord High School coach.

“We have decided that we will reopen again,” she said. “When? We’re not sure. I’m still shaken over this. I’ll be the one serving customers and answering phones. I’m not ready to face that yet, but it will be soon.”
