EDITOR’S NOTE: The original version of this story incorrectly stated how many people were injured in the fire. The story has been updated and is now correct.

One child was killed and five people were injured in an early morning RV fire Sunday, April 12.

At about 6:48 a.m., emergency crews were dispatched to north 21st street in Goshen for an RV fire, according to 95.3 MNC’s news partners, The Elkhart Truth. The RV was engulfed in flames when emergency responders arrived.

Two adults, three children and an infant were inside the RV, WNDU reports. One of the children was airlifted to a hospital in Michigan and one of the children was pronounced dead at the scene.

The rest of the family was treated at the scene and taken to IU Health Goshen Hospital, according to The Elkhart Truth.

An investigation is underway, though no foul play is suspected at this time.
