Michael Jerome Exom, charged with attempted murder in Berrien County, now behind bars

A man who wanted for attempted murder is now behind bars after weeks on the run.

Michael Jerome Exom, 28, was arrested Tuesday, May 12, weeks after investigators say he shot a woman at Aaron’s Mini Storage in Niles.

The victim survived being shot in the stomach, and after surgery, named Exom as the man who shot her, according to WNDU.

Exom also faces charges in a separate incident in St. Joseph County, Ind.,, in which prosecutors say he got into an argument with the same woman, grabbed her and left a mark on her body.

Exom was picked up by the U.S. Marshals Service and was booked into the St. Joseph County Jail.
