15-year-old killed in train crash in Mishawaka identified by police

Police have identified the Mishawaka teenager who died after he was struck by a train on Thursday, May 28.

The victim was 15-year-old Zachary Bielinski, according to Lt. Tim Williams with the Mishawaka Police Department. Bielinski was standing on the tracks between Main and Church streets watching another train go by when he was struck, Williams said. The crash was ruled an accident.

A memorial featuring flowers, notes and gifts honors Bielinski on the tracks on Main Street south of Lincolnway West.
