The Michigan Department of Natural Resources is reporting several sightings of a young black bear in Berrien County.
The bear was first sighted in Sodus Township on Monday, June 1, according to WNDU.
Another sighting in Berrien Springs was reported Wednesday, June 3.
The bear may be the same as one spotted in Van Buren County late last month, according to the DNR.
The DNR advises that anyone who sees a bear shouldn’t try to feed it. The agency also suggests to make noise like hand clapping to scare it away.
Anyone who spots a bear in Michigan is encouraged to call the DNR at 269-685-6851.
