Vibrant sun, hazy sky in Michiana caused by Canadian wildfires

The weather Tuesday, June 9, might actually be clear and sunny if it weren’t for wildfires burning in Canada.

Several wildfires are burning in Saskatchewan and Manitoba and the smoke has risen to cover the sky over much of the northern part of the United States, according to the National Weather Service.

The smoke is high enough that the smell isn’t noticeable, but the sky will have a yellowish or reddish tint. The sun appears a bright orange-red hue.
