Man suspected of killing woman in front of two of her children formally charged with murder

The man police suspect of fatally shooting a woman in front of two of her children in Mishawaka has been formally charged with murder, according to the St. Joseph County Prosecutor’s Office.

A warrant for the arrest of Tyron Johnson, 18, was issued Saturday, June 13. He was ordered held without bond but has not been arrested.

Johnson is suspected of shooting 22-year-old Precious Jackson, the mother of his 1-month-old child.

Jackson was shot and killed around 11 a.m. on Friday, June 12, near Columbia and Logan Streets.

Johnson was last seen running north from the area.
