Fourth of July 2015 should be sunny and clear, but rain is in the forecast for much of the week leading up to Independence Day

The sun will come out this week — just not tomorrow.

Rain on Monday, June 29, will likely continue through to Tuesday, June 30, according to the National Weather Service. There is a 50 percent chance of thunderstorms after 9 a.m. Tuesday, accompanied by a high of 77 degrees.

The chance for rain on Wednesday, July 1, is only 20 percent, with partly sunny skies and a high of 75 expected for much of the day. 

Thursday, July 2, is expected to be sunny and 76 degrees, the National Weather Service forecasts.

A 30 percent chance of thunderstorms is back in the mix for Friday, July 3, but otherwise it will likely be a sunny day with a high of 76 degrees.

Clear, sunny skies and 79 degrees is expected for Fourth of July on Saturday.
