The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and Indiana State Police served a search warrant on S.R. 331 on Tuesday morning, July 21.

An armored ATF vehicle and ISP K-9 units arrived at a home in the 63000 block of S.R. 331 at about 6 a.m., according to 95.3 MNC’s news partners ABC 57. The raid focused mostly on a detached garage behind the house. 

Special Agent Robert Nosbisch with ATF said the raid was part of an enforcement action. Nosbisch says agents finished their work at the house after about three hours but he declined to discuss the nature of the investigation or say whether the investigation was over.

He could not say whether anyone had been arrested in connection with the search.

The homeowners weren’t home when officers arrived, but three children were. They were placed with their mother, ABC 57 reported.

The armored ATF vehicle is used to protect officers and doesn’t indicate whether or not authorities were concerned about safety issues while executing the search warrant, WSBT reported.

A locksmith at the scene told WSBT that he was helping federal officials open safes.
