Three people were taken to the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries after a hit-and-run crash at a Taco Bell in Goshen on Tuesday night, July 21.

A 52-year-old Goshen woman was inside the Taco Bell at 701 W. Pike St. and a 17-year-old boy was standing outside of the restaurant when a passenger car crashed into the restaurant at about 7 p.m., according to a news release from the Goshen Police Department.

The 10-year-old daughter of the Goshen woman sustained minor cuts when the window glass shattered in the crash, according to an update from the Goshen Police Department issued at 1:40 p.m. Wednesday. She was not treated by medics or at a hospital for her injuries.

In addition to the shattered window, part of the building was damaged.

The driver, who was not identified by police, then drove away from the restaurant, unaware that anyone was injured in the crash, according to the news release. The driver drove to the Goshen Police Department and she and her passenger spoke with investigators there.

The Goshen woman suffered a leg injury and the teenager suffered a non-life threatening head injury, according to the news release. They were taken to IU Health Goshen Hospital for treatment.

The driver told police that she crashed into the Taco Bell while trying to drive away from a group of people who were approaching her car, according to the news release. A passenger in her car has a history of incidents with the group and the driver was afraid for their safety.

The crash remains under investigation.

CAR CRASHES INTO LITTLE CAESERS IN ELKHART

A car crashed into the front of Little Caesars at 1536 S. Nappanee Street in Elkhart at about 9:12 p.m. Monday, July 20, according to 95.3 MNC’s news partners Elkhart Truth.

The driver of the vehicle was pulling into a parking space when the accelerator on his vehicle stuck and his car crashed into the front of the store.

Nobody was injured.
