Suspects smash hole in cement wall to break into Marathon gas station

Van Buren County Sheriff’s deputies are investigating a break-in at the Marathon gas station and convenience store in the 32000 block of Red Arrow Highway in Antwerp Township.

Officers were called to the scene around 6 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 15, when an employee who reported for work discovered the store had been broken into during the night.

Investigators believe the break-in may have happened between 12:30 a.m. and 2 a.m.

The suspects had broken through a cement block wall located in the back of the store. The suspects then broke into the store safe and stole an undisclosed amount of cash.
