Anti-abortion supporters protest outside Planned Parenthood

LAFAYETTE, Ind. (AP) — Hundreds of anti-abortion supporters protested outside several Planned Parenthood facilities in Indiana.

The South Bend Tribune reports hundreds of people turned out Saturday morning to protest outside the organization’s facility on Grape Road in Mishawaka, with some carrying signs reading: “Planned Parenthood: Bad for Michiana” and “Abortion hurts women.” The Journal & Courier reported more than 100 protesters held signs, prayed and denounced the Lafayette facility. WFIE-TV reported a large crowd gathered outside the organization’s Evansville facility.

The protests were part of a nationwide effort to draw attention to the women’s health care and abortion provider.

Planned Parenthood has been under fire since a group released undercover videos last month of officials discussing aborted fetal organs it provides for research. Planned Parenthood says allegations it profits from the practice are fabricated by abortion opponents.
