Two teens arrested in connection to video of senior citizen getting hit in Rogers Park in Goshen

Two teenagers were arrested Wednesday afternoon, Aug. 26, after a video was posted online showing a group of young people confronting an elderly man at Rogers Park in Goshen and one person hitting the man and knocking him to the ground.

Austin Handshoe, 17, and Keenan Baker, 16, both of Goshen, were arrested on preliminary charges of robbery resulting in serious bodily injury, a Level 2 felony, according a news release from Goshen Police Department.

A concerned citizen sent the video to the police department. The video — which 95.3 MNC is not publishing to protect the identity of the victim — shows a group of young people speaking with a 54-year-old man. The people demanded money from the man and at one point, a male suspect hit the man and knocked him to the ground.

It’s not clear when the incident at Rogers Park occurred.

The Goshen Police Department is asking anyone else who witnessed the incident to contact the department by calling 574-533-8661 or by emailing police@goshencity.com.
