FBI asking for public's help in finding suspect connected to woman's kidnapping near Indiana/Illinois border

The FBI is asking for the public’s help in identifying and locating a suspect connected to a kidnapping that happened on Saturday morning, Sept. 19, in Lansing, Illinois.

The victim was a 53-year-old woman who was assaulted in her home around midnight, then kidnapped, according to a news release from The FBI and Lansing Police.

The kidnapper then drove the victim in her car to Munster, where surveillance cameras at an ATM used by the kidnapper captured his image.

The alleged kidnapper He is believed to have continued traveling in the area, stopping briefly in Burns Harbor, where the victim was found by police.

The car was later found abandoned in Holland, Mich.

The suspect is described by authorities as a heavyset male/black, last seen wearing a white t-shirt, light gray knit gloves, a wristwatch with a black band and a nylon stocking over his head.

The victim’s car is a small blue Chevrolet 4-door passenger car.

The FBI and Lansing Police are working in close coordination with federal, state and local authorities in northeast Illinois, northern Indiana and southwest
