A South Bend man charged with kidnapping after police say he took his ex-girlfriend’s 4-year-old granddaughter from her home without permission has been arrested two more times in the last week.

Charles Jackson, 61, was arrested at about 7:11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 8, on South High Street in South Bend, according to our news partners ABC 57. Someone reported a suspicious driver at Miami Hills Apartments and a South Bend Police officer identified Jackson as the driver.

He was booked in the St. Joseph County Jail on preliminary charges of criminal trespass, violation of a protective order and stalking.

He was also arrested Friday, Oct. 2, and charged with invasion of privacy, a class A misdemeanor.

Police say he took the girl from her home without permission on Sept. 24 after a fight with his ex-girlfriend, who is a grandmother of the girl. He was arrested after returning the girl home and charged with kidnapping.
