Veterans Day 2015: Freebies, discounts and deals offered to current and former U.S. military members

Veterans Day is Nov. 11, and several restaurants and stores are offering freebies and discounts to current and former U.S. military members.

Check out the list below to find out where you can get a free lunch or dinner, haircut or a discount on items. Most businesses require a military ID or proof of service to redeem the offer. Not all locations may offer the deal, so anyone interested in enjoying a deal should call ahead to confirm.

Veterans and active-duty military can enjoy a free meal from a special menu, with options including a 7-oz. sirloin steak or double crunch shrimp, on Nov. 11. Beverage and gratituity not included.

Veterans and military personnel can get a free meal, up to $12, on Nov. 10 and Nov. 11 with valid military ID or proof of service.

Free breakfast all day Nov. 11 from a special menu — with choices like brioche French toast and the country biscuit breakfast — for veterans and active-duty military. Dine-in only.

Customers with a military ID get a free order of Bang Bang Shrimp on Veterans Day.

Veterans and active duty military can enjoy a free appetizer from Nov. 9 to Nov. 15 with a military ID or uniform.

Veterans and and active military can get a free lunch or dinner from a select menu Nov. 11 with a military ID. Dine-in only. Drink and tip not included.

Enjoy dessert — veterans get a free slice of Double Fudge Coca Cola cake on Nov. 11. Ten percent of sales of the Double Fudge Coca Cola cake from other customers will be donated to USO Transition 360 Alliance. Other items in the retail store may also have a portion of the proceeds donated.

Veterans and active-duty armed forces can enjoy a free “build your own pasta bowl” all day Veterans Day. Show a military ID or wear your uniform to get the meal.

Veterans and active-duty military can get a free haircut on Nov. 11. Other customers who pay for a haircut on Nov. 11 will receive a card for a free haircut to give to a veteran that can be used anytime before Dec. 30.

Any service member with an active or retired military ID can receive one free cupcake of any flavor on Veterans Day.

Anyone who has ever served in the U.S. military can receive a free special sit-down dinner from 5 to 9 p.m. Nov. 11.

Veterans and active-duty military can get a 10 percent discount in stores on Nov. 11.

All veterans and active-duty military personnel get an entrée for free from a select menu, with a drink purchase and valid military ID. 

A free red, white and blue pancakes meal is offered to veterans and active-duty military with valid ID from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Enjoy a free doughnut and a small cup of coffee — no ID required.

Everyone is invited to a free showing of “Flags of our Fathers” at 2 p.m. Nov. 11 at the Lerner Theatre, 

Veterans and active-duty military can enjoy a free lunch combo, which includes four pizza slices and a 20-ounce beverage, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Valid military ID required.

Free dessert plus a 10 percent discount is offered to any veteran or active-duty military with valid military ID on Nov. 11.

Veterans and active-duty military can get a 10 percent discount in stores on Nov. 11.

Customers with a military ID get a free entrée from a select menu (options include chicken parmigiana, lasagna, or cheese ravioli) with unlimited soup or salad and breadsticks, and family members joining a veteran or active military member at the table get 10 percent off on Veterans Day.

Customers with military ID get a free Blooming Onion appetizer and free non-alcoholic beverages on November 11. All military and their families get 15% off the bill anytime from Nov. 12 to Dec. 31.

Free buffet for veterans and active-duty military from 4 p.m. to close Nov. 11 with a valid ID.

Veterans with a military ID or proof of service can get a free breakfast from a special menu from 5 a.m. to 9 a.m. or a free dinner from a special menu from 3 to 9 p.m. News Talk 95.3 MNC’s Mark McGill and Casey Hendrickson will be live hosting their shows from the Prime Table on Nov. 11.

From Nov. 9 to 12, veterans and active military receive a complimentary appetizer or dessert with a military ID or proof of service.

Free Red’s Tavern Double burger and bottomless steak fries if you’re a veteran or active-duty personnel with proof of service or military ID on Nov. 11.

Active duty service members, veterans and military spouses can receive a tall (12-ounce) hot brewed coffee for free on Nov. 11 with valid ID.

Free admission to military members, veterans and their families on Nov. 11.

Veterans and active-duty military personnel can enjoy a free lunch from a select menu including a drink from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 11. Military ID or proof of service required. Dine-in only.
