A man accused of downloading more than 100,000 child porn pictures and videos has been fired from his job at St. Mary’s College.

Police said 60-year-old Luis Morales downloaded at least some of the files using the Wi-Fi at St. Mary’s while he worked his janitorial shifts and that’s how a St. Joseph County child cybercrimes investigator found him.

Morales was suspended from his job when he was arrested in early February. As of Monday, Feb. 22, he was no longer an employee of the school, according to St. Mary’s spokeswoman Gwen O’Brien.

Police don’t believe that any students, staff members or faculty were harmed by or connected to the downloads. St. Mary’s College officials have cooperated with the investigation.

Morales was charged with two counts of child exploitation and seven counts of possession of child pornography. He faces up to 29 ½ years in prison.

His initial court hearing is scheduled for Monday.
