The South Shore trains are suspended until further notice after the railway sustained damage in the blizzard hitting northern Indiana.

The winter storm knocked out power to several key parts of the train system, including cross warnings, according to our news partners ABC 57.

South Shore passengers can use their tickets on Metra trains until the South Shore is back up.

Anyone in Michiana needing to head to Chicago on Thursday may want to reschedule their trip if possible. There are travel warnings in Lake and Porter counties in northwest Indiana, which means only emergency travel is allowed.
