A newly established group plans to begin giving out quarterly $1,000 grants to fund “awesome” ideas in the city of South Bend.

The South Bend Awesome Fund, a local chapter of the national Awesome Foundation, will seek grant proposals from local residents, businesses and causes, the South Bend Tribune reported. Finalists will be asked to deliver five-minute presentations on their proposals, and chapter members will vote for their favorite idea.

Proposals not chosen for grants can be submitted again, the Tribune reported.

The group’s first meeting is scheduled for April 26.

Proposals can be submitted online
