The celebration includes food, giveaways, entertaining performances and special guests, according to The Shirt ND’s Facebook page. The event begins at 4 p.m. outside the Hammes Bookstore and The Shirt will be unveiled by Notre Dame Football Coach Brian Kelly at about 6 p.m.

The Shirt will sold in the bookstore for $18 after the ceremony in both men’s and women’s styles. This is the first year The Shirt will be offered in a women’s cut.

Notre Dame fans can pre-order The Shirt online.

The Shirt has been a Notre Dame tradition since 1989. The designs are created and chosen by students on a committee and the proceeds are split between a charity to help Notre Dame students pay for unexpected medical expenses and a fund for student activities.

The shirt is usually a shade of blue or green but it has been shades of gold and grey in the past as well. The 2015 design featured a vintage-style design on a green shirt.

The Blue-Gold game is at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, April 16, at Notre Dame Stadium. Tickets are $15 and can be purchased online, by calling 574-631-7356 from 8:30 to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday or at one of the Notre Dame box office locations.
