Notre Dame suspends Grant Blankenship, awaits Corey Robinson decision

SOUTH BEND, Ind. (AP) — The futures of two Notre Dame players are in question with defensive lineman Grant Blankenship being suspended from the team for a violation of team rules and wide receiver Corey Robinson dealing with lingering effects from a concussion.

Coach Brian Kelly says he will meet with Blankenship soon about his future. The 6-foot-5, 278-pound Blankenship, who is from The Colony, Texas, had 12 tackles as a freshman, playing in 11 games, but as a sophomore last season got in only three games and had one tackle.

Kelly says Robinson is considering whether to continue playing after seeing a specialist. It is the second concussion for Robinson. Kelly said he’s hesitant to go into details, but said Robinson came back feeling good about what he heard from the doctor.
