Elkhart man killed in motorcycle-related crash Saturday on M-205 in Cass County, Mich.

An Elkhart man was killed in a motorcycle-related crash near in Mason Townhip in Cass County, Mich.

The collision happened just before 12:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 16, on M-205 near Cassopolis Road.

Daimon Leader, 22, of Elkhart, was driving a motorcycle when he was struck by a pick-up truck turning onto Cassopolis Road, according to the Cass County Sheriff’s Office.

The 21-year-old Elkhart man driving the pick-up was taken to Elkhart General Hospital for treatment to his injuries, the Cass County Sheriff’s Office reported.

Leader was a 2012 Elkhart Central High School graduate and track team standout who volunteered his time helping at-risk youth, according to 95.3 MNC’s reporting partners at The Elkhart Truth.

The cause of the crash is still being investigated.
