Suspect arrested in connection with Washington Gardens shooting

An arrest has been made in connection with the shooting at Washington Gardens Apartments in Elkhart that seriously injured a 30-year-old man.

26-year-old Marcus Gary was arrested on Monday, April 18, on a preliminary charge of attempted murder, according to Elkhart Police.

Officers were called to the complex around 7:40 p.m. on Sunday, April 17, on the report a man who had been shot.

The victim was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Gary is being held without bond in the Elkhart County Jail.
