Ten women claim that at least three Berrien County Jail employees forced them to provide sexual favors in exchange for money and favors and are now suing.

The lawsuit, filed in federal court on April 5, names Sgt. John McCoy, Sgt. Brett McGrew, Deputy Keegan Trail, Deputy David Lee and Berrien County as defendants, according to our news partners ABC 57.

McCoy, McGrew and Trail are accused of requesting sexual favors from the women while they were housed in the Berrien County Jail. McGrew is also accused of giving one woman the wrong medication and forcing her not to let anyone know about it.

The lawsuit does not explain the allegations against Lee, ABC 57 reported.

The women charge that their constitutional rights were violated and that Berrien County showed statutory gross negligence. They are seeking money for damages, costs and attorney fees.
