National Pretzel Day 2016: How to get free soft pretzels in Michiana

It’s hard to be salty about National Pretzel Day when free food is up for grabs.

Auntie Anne’s at the University Park Mall in Mishawaka is offering a free original or cinnamon sugar pretzel from Tuesday, April 26, through Sunday, May 1, to anyone who downloads its “Free Pretzel Perks” app.

Those who download the app also have the chance to be entered to win free pretzels for a year.

Of course, it wouldn’t be a pretzel holiday without Goshen-based chain Ben’s Soft Pretzels getting in on the action.

Pretzel fans can get a jumbo soft pretzel in exchange for a minimum $1 donation to the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund. Every penny of the donation will go to the charity.

There are several Ben’s Soft Pretzels locations around Michiana, including the location inside the South Bend Chocolate Café in downtown South Bend that opens on Tuesday.
