South Bend Schools superintendent finalists announced

The three finalists to be the next superintendent of South Bend Community School Corporation are each superintendents at other school systems in the Midwest.

The school board announced the names Tuesday morning, May 10, and scheduled public interviews for the three candidates, the South Bend Tribune reported.

Michael Meissen, from Plymouth-Canton Schools in Plymouth, Mich., will be interviewed at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 11.

Kenneth Spells, from Alton Community Unit School District #11 in Godfrey, Ill., will be interviewed at 5:30 pm. Thursday, May 12.

Dean Gorrell, of Verona Area School District in Verona, Wis., will be interviewed at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 17.

All three interviews will take place at South Bend Schools’ administration building, 215 N. St. Joseph St., South Bend. The public can’t comment during the interviews but can submit questions ahead of time via email at asksbcsc@sbcsc.k12.in.us or phone at 574-283-8000.
