Power is slowly but surely coming back on for Indiana Michigan Power customers whose electricity went out during Monday’s severe storm.

Abut 75 percent of power outages have been restored, but there are still more than 9,000 customers in the dark, according to I&M. Crews have found 80 poles, 43 cross arms and 30 transformers that were damaged by the storm on Monday.

Here are the outages as of 7:40 a.m. Wednesday:

LaPorte Co., IN 864
St. Joseph Co., IN 5,309
Berrien Co., MI 2,756
Cass Co., MI 154
IN totals: 6,173
MI totals: 2,910
Total Outages 9,083

All customers in Benton Harbor, Mich., should have power restored by 11:59 p.m. Wednesday, while customers in South Bend and LaPorte are expected to be fully restored by 3 p.m. Thursday and customers in Buchanan, Mich., should all have power by 11:59 p.m. Thursday, I&M said.

More severe weather expected Wednesday afternoon and Wednesday night could cause more power outages throughout Michiana. I&M said it will try to restore power first to the customers that have been in the dark since Monday, and the organization is working on identifying additional resources to help restore any outages that may be caused Wednesday.
