More counterfeit cash turning up in Elkhart


Elkhart Police are investigating more cases of counterfeit cash.

The phony money has been passed along at as many as four Elkhart and Goshen area businesses this month, according to 95.3 MNC’s reporting partners at The Elkhart Truth.

One of the stores involved is the 7-Eleven store at Old U.S. 20 and Ash Road in Elkhart.

A clerk told the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Department that a woman tried to pay for her goods using a counterfeit $5 bill, The Elkhart Truth reported.

Another customer used a phony $50 bill at the 7-Eleven store at 1000 S. Main St. in Goshen, The Elkhart Truth reported.
