The community remembered the victim of a murder-suicide Thursday night.

The tragedy happened during Domestic Violence Awareness month, and left three girls without their mother, according to ABC 57.

Thursday night, the YWCA held a domestic violence vigil in Seitz Park to remember Amana Scott. The vigil also remembered victims of other domestic violence cases.

Those who knew Scott described her as a sweet, down to earth lady who was always smiling and in a great mood. Also, they say the support of the community is the only way Scott’s daughters will be able to move on.

Tom, Amana was my sister, the youngest was the only one that was orphaned. My oldest two nieces father is still alive (ex-husband)of my sister. Thought I’d help clarify that. Thanks.
