The tale of Jesus’ birth won’t be told the way it has at Concord Community Schools‘ Christmas Spectacular anymore.
Court documents from a federal lawsuit the school continues to deal with state that the school will pull the plug on the live Nativity scenes, according to the Elkhart Truth.
The district offered the plaintiffs, the Freedom From Religion Foundation, a settlement where it promised to not show the scenes with student actors any longer. The foundation rejected the idea, but the school is going ahead with the change anyway.
However, the Nativity scenes will still live on. The school says the Christmas Spectacular will go on with “a fashion largely similar” to the 2015 show.
Last year’s program was adjusted to use mannequins to depict the Nativity scene, instead of live performers. This after a lawsuit was filed on behalf of a Concord High School student, his father, and some other parents who charged that the high school’s annual Christmas Spectacular endorses Christianity. They claimed the show violates the U.S. Constitution.

When is America gong to wake up! Why do we continue to let a single person or group determine how we live? Including our anti-America government officials. We need a Donald Trump more than ever before to put these minorities where they belong. Either in America as Americans or somewhere else. We Americans need to start giving the “boot” to these ridiculous judges that up hold this garbage as well. I drive by a Mosk every time I leave my house. I find it offensive so can I get a judge to make them remove the dome so it looks like any other building? As absurd as that sounds if a minority wanted the Catholic Churches to remove all the steeples so they would not be offended some idiot judge would agree with them.

Where do they think Christmas came from? What is a Christmas program without the story of Christmas – Christ’s birth!?
Whoever this “student” and father were that filed the initial lawsuit needs to study history and actually read the constitution. NO WHERE in the constitution does it say anything about separation of “church and state”. That phrase came about from a letter written by Thomas Jefferson. People need to stop believing what they’ve been told and read/investigate/confirm/study for themselves!! Seek truth, and you will find it!!
Concord’s mistake was to back down even a little! What they presented the past 30+ years is history, and factual truth! The community AND students loved it. Why allow one and the threats of outside lobbyist groups change us or have that control over us. Don’t like it, don’t attend!! Simple! So sad!!
Ruth, What you say is true except it is the idiot judges that need to actually read the constitution. If I were the judge in this case I probably would have followed all of the judges that have already stated the obvious. This judge is a total jack A_ _!
