Concord’s promise to leave live nativity out not enough for plantiffs

(Sam Householder/Elkhart Truth)

The promise by Concord Community Schools to leave the live nativity scene out of its annual Concord Christmas Spectacular is not enough for the student and parents suing the district.

An attorney for the American Civil Liberties Union is demanding a more definitive ruling from U.S. District Judge Jon DeGuilio, according to the Elkhart Truth.

The ACLU and Freedom from Religion Foundation are representing the student and three parents who have filed a lawsuit against the district, saying the show violates the U.S. Constitution’s laws against the separation of church and state.

The ACLU attorney believes the school hasn’t made it “absolutely clear” that the school won’t “revert to previous versions of the Christmas Spectacular in the future.”

ACLU is Anti-American... November 2, 2016 at 11:40 am

The law does not require “separation” of church and state…only that the “state” not favor any religion. As usual a few nut jobs that hate America and Catholics will get there way…When are we going to ignore these people and put judges in that will stop “interpreting” the constitution in favor of a few zealots? How is the ACLU not deemed a hate group no different from the KKK? I have heard of a school that is requiring grade schoolers to learn the 5 pillars of Islam. Where is the ACLU? Busy attacking Catholics and Christians.
