A felon who led police on a chase at speeds nearing 100 miles an hour has been sentenced to federal prison.
22-year-old Lonnie Lewis Jr. of Michigan City entered a guilty plea this week to being a felon in possession of a firearm. He was also given two years supervised release, according to the U.S. Department of Justice.
Lewis took off from police during a traffic stop on Sept. 9, 2016. As he was fleeing, he tossed a loaded gun and drugs out of the window, then tried to get others to retrieve the gun and drugs after the fact. Lewis ended up crashing into a tree.
Lewis was previously convicted of dealing cocaine in 2015.

Too bad he is not an illegal immigrant. If he was he would be let go no matter what he did.
If a person can’t be trusted to exercise their constitutional rights without being a danger to law abiding citizens they should be released period. In six years is this ‘fellow’ going to less of a threat to us?
