Report: United Airlines isn’t America’s least favorite airline

It may be hard to believe for some, but there’s two airliners that actually fared worse than United Airlines in a recent customer satisfaction survey.

The American Consumer Satisfaction Index has released its annual report of customer satisfaction with airliners in America, and for a third straight year, ultra-low cost carrier Spirit Airlines was at the bottom of the list. The airliner scored a 61 out of 100 on the list, according to ABC 57.

Frontier Airlines only scored two points higher at 63. Then came the much-maligned United Airlines, who scored a 70 out of 100 to finish at third lowest.

United also came in lowest among airliners that fly out of South Bend International Airport. Allegiant came in at one point higher at 71 out of 100, followed by Delta’s 76 out of 100.

Here’s how the airlines ranked, according to the report:

  • JetBlue: 82, +2%
  • Southwest: 80, 0%
  • Alaska: 78, +1%
  • American: 76, +6%
  • Delta: 76, +7%
  • All Others: 74, 0%
  • Allegiant: 71, +9%
  • United: 70, 3%
  • Frontier: 63, -5%
  • Spirit: 61, -2%

Not really that hard to believe April 25, 2017 at 3:37 pm

It’s only hard to believe for those who don’t fly regularly. How many who do have witnessed this sort of behavior? Likely less than 1%.

Even so, I won’t fly the surly skies as life is too short to fly through Chicago.

Airline flight has become not much different than subway rides with the addition of assigned seating and the potential for unreasonable search and seizure.
