Several misdemeanor charges have been filed against the owners of a pit bull that attacked a woman and her two grand children in April.

It happened on April 9 in Calvin Township. The dog, who was taken in as a stray, was accidentally set free from a garage right before the attack, according to WNDU.

The dog bit 7-year-old Anthony Harrison, but saved the worst for 2-year-old Arial Harrison, tearing off her ears and scalp while her grandmother tried to protect her.

MLive reports Arial Harrison had to have extensive surgery done last month at Riley Children’s Hospital in Indianapolis to put tubes in her tear ducts, as well as repair damage to her eyelids and muscles of her face so she could blink again. She also suffered bites on her arms, legs, and hands and the dog’s teeth narrowly missed her jugular vein. A doctor told her parents that the little girl will never have hair again because of the damage to her scalp.

The dog was euthanized after the attack. Arial’s father, a pit bull owner himself, asked people through MLive to not blame the breed, saying the owners needed to take responsibility for their animal.

The two people charged, whose names will be released after their arraignment, face five multiple misdemeanors, including failing to vaccinate or license as well as interfering with law enforcement.

Should be felony assault with a deadly weapon.

If a person started a semi, put a brick on the accelerator and let it drive into town where it maimed and killed what would it be?

And this dad who likes his dog more than his daughter…if he wanted to experiment with Darwinism he should have started with himself.
