Longtime Metro Homicide Commander Tim Corbett running for Sheriff

St. Joseph County Metro Homicide Commander Tim Corbett has announced he’s running for St. Joseph County Sheriff.

His supporters include St. Joseph County Prosecutor Ken Cotter, two-time South Bend Police Chief Chuck Hurley, current term-limited Sheriff Mike Grzegorek, and former Indiana Governor Joe Kernan.

During Wednesday’s announcement, Corbett pledged he’d continue to keep the people of St. Joseph County safe as his number one priority and to be in the community with officers, earning the respect of citizens.

Corbett is a Democrat and a lifelong resident of St. Joseph County, Indiana. His career in law enforcement spans more than 42 years, including leadership roles on South Bend SWAT and 16 years as Commander of St. Joseph County Metro Homicide Unit.

This guy is a loose cannon, with a hot temper and very little ability to make rational decisions. I’d worry more about him, but his undisciplined mouth will take him out of the race soon enough.
