Several fights on Silver Beach resulted in its early closure on Memorial Day.

A video that appeared on a personal Facebook page showed a fight between young girls leading to the use of pepper spray from a police officer. A 16 year-old Elkhart boy was arrested.

Berrien County Sheriff Paul Bailey said about 3000 people were on the beach when the group of about 50 or 60 people arrived, with the first fight breaking out about 7 p.m. The problem continued to grow, leading to the Parks Department’s decision to close the beach an hour early at 9 p.m.

A public education in this country is ostensibly free and yet you cannot even COME CLOSE to putting a few sentences together in a readable way. How is that possible? Think about it.
