A new batch of state laws are now in effect.

Though some legislation took effect immediately upon receiving the Governor’s signature, like the legalization of Sunday alcohol sales, most didn’t start until Sunday.

Those include making the Say’s Firefly the official state insect, allowing for longer sentences for dealers who sell drugs that kill people, and allowing students to carry and apply their own sunscreen at school.

Coroners will now have to report deaths from suspected overdoses and there’s a new sex education law.

Last but certainly not least: eyeball tattooing is now prohibited in the Hoosier state.

  1. How ridiculous is it that we need a law that allows students to carry and apply their own sunscreen at school.
When people refer to America as a “free” country they can only mean free money, free cell phones, free housing…because the American Citizen is certainly not “free” when there has to be a law that allows students to carry and apply their own sunscreen at school. We are so screwed!
