Granger man arrested on gun charge in midst of crash scene

Police in St. Joseph County have arrested a Granger man on a gun charge, while they were on the scene of a crash.

It happened near State Road 933 and Dorr Road.

Police spotted the car passing a long line of vehicles by driving in the left turn lane while they worked the crash.

Investigators say they discovered that the car had expired plates, and the driver, Mark Baldwin, 21, had no valid ID.

The gun was located inside the car, and Baldwin was charged with being a felon in possession of a firearm.
