The man who was shot by a South Bend Police officer is scheduled for arraignment on Thursday, Sep. 27.

Kristopher Mingo Flores, 18, is charged with unlawful possession of a firearm by a serious violent felon, and pointing a firearm.

It was on Monday, Sep 24, when two plain clothes officers in an unmarked car attempted to stop Flores who they say ran a stop sign and nearly collided with other vehicles.

They say Flores got out of his car in the parking lot of Frank’s Place on Marion Street and pulled a gun. An officer fired. Flores suffered a non-life-threatening injury.

Flores told investigators he didn’t know the two were police officers and he was only trying to scare them away, according to court documents.

“Flores told investigators he didn’t know the two were police officers and he was only trying to scare them away, according to court documents.”

Doesn’t matter, he was a serious violent felon in possession of a firearm. Go straight to jail loser.
