The body of a teenage girl was discovered behind Pasquale Rulli’s restaurant at Battell and Division Streets in Mishawaka.

The St. Joseph County Metro Homicide Unit was called to the area  around 9 a.m. on Sunday, Dec. 9. The St. Joseph County Coroner arrived at the scene around 11 a.m.

Metro Homicide investigators confirmed the victim’s identity as Breana Rouhselang, 17.

Rouhseland was six months pregnant and a junior at Mishawaka High School, according to her father and stepmother, according to 95.3 MNC’s reporting partners at ABC-57.

A suspect, Aaron Trejo, 16, was placed under arrest on a preliminary charge of murder and taken to the St. Joseph County Jail. He is expected to be formally charged as an adult on Monday, according to Metro Homicide investigators.

Rouhselang and Trejo knew each other through the football team at the school, Metro Homicide investigators said.

Trejo was a junior running back for the Mishawaka Cavemen, according to MaxPreps.

The business, Pasquale Rulli’s restaurant, had nothing to do in relation to the victim or the suspect. Investigators described it as simply a “location of opportunity.”

Rouhselang was last seen by family members around midnight. Mishawaka Police were called by the family around 4:30 a.m who reported her as missing. Officers found evidence of a possible violent crime while conducting their search and ultimately found Rouhselang’s body in the dumpster.

School City of Mishawaka issued a statement, Sunday, offering thoughts and prayers for the family members and friends affected by the loss. Grief counselors will be available at Mishawaka High School throughout the day on Monday, according to the statement.
