The St. Joseph County Metro Homicide Unit has positively identified the victim from the fatal shooting at the American Legion Post 284, and his family has been notified.

The shooting took place in the late evening hours of Friday, Dec. 14.

The victim is identifed as Theodore Braun, 25, of South Bend.

Bruce Bennett, 59, of South Bend, was arrested in connection with this investigation and was booked into the St. Joseph County Jail early on Saturday morning on preliminary suspicion of murder.

Formal criminal charges are expected to be filed on Monday, December 17.
