A candidate for Mayor of South Bend has been named a suspect in an SUV theft in Starke County.

A police officer found a stolen SUV in front of a home on Whitehall Avenue in South Bend, according to a report.

Official campaign filing records show a person named Will Smith lives at that home.

Authorities say Smith, who is one of the Democratic candidates for Mayor of South Bend, owned the vehicle before it was repossessed.

It was reported stolen from an impound lot on Feb. 13.

When police located the vehicle it also reportedly had a license plate that didn’t belong to the vehicle.

Typical Democrat rules don’t apply to them. It’s funny though if I would do that they wouldn’t refer charges I would get arrested.
