Goshen Mayor preparing for coronavirus

Source: Mayor Jeremy Stutsman for Goshen Facebook Page

You can add Goshen to the list of area cities that are proactively taking steps to handle coronavirus for when it shows up.

Mayor Jeremy Stutsman issued a statement shortly after the case in Noble County was announced this week. In it he stated that the city has been working with the Elkhart County Health Department, Goshen Health and other officials to make sure they are ready.

He also outlined immediate action they are taking; like establishing a group of staff that will be responsible for coordinating efforts across the community, convening a meeting with pertinent education and community officials, and posting any updates from the CDC, state board of health, or the county health department on their website.

Thank you for being proactive in our community and taking the necessary precautions to be prepared in case things escalate. Thank you, Mayor Stutsman.

Paul, why is it necessary for you to spread hate for a person just based on looks? I’m saddened that you seem to be judging someone based on how they look and not by the character of a man.

A man of REAL character would NOT look like that!!!!!!!

Maybe he should focus on the heroin problem in Goshen. I did work on the goshen theater for a week and I watched homeless men at 11 in the morning stand in front of constant springs when its closed and shoot up heroin. I also watched as his police force drove right past them as they were falling over almost into the street. This was on multiple days .I have video of it absolutely disgusting that he does nothing. Shame on him.

Stephen no comment on the heroin? I guess just ignoring it is SOP for Goshen’s mayor AND Citizen’s. I agree with Paul less time on the hair and earrings more time on crime. Lets worry about what is really just a strain of flu and not about the junkies in fabulous downtown !!! Yes Thank you mayor for failing to keep the city safe!!!

trust me, I’ve lived in a city that was a heck of a lot more unsafe than Goshen. Goshen is safer than a whole lot of other places. I suggest you go explore places like, Elkhart, South Bend, Battle Creek,MI…

I work regionally within a 50 mile radius of Elkhart, all those cities you listed I’ve worked in for extended periods of time and never seen people shoot heroin let alone around the corner from the police station. It’s a shame your so blind to your own town’s drug problem.I’m sensing a theme here in Goshen. Denial. I work on homes and businesses of all demographics and I’ve done homes in the worst parts of Benton Harlem and never seen anything like that. And I Live in Elkhart trust me our cops don’t tolerate that.

Both the current pandemic and the heroine are major issues that should be addressed. It’s unfortunate to hear that you saw this happen with heroin outside of constant springs. But you can’t just expect other people to fix the problems, as citizens we need to take the initiative to be the change we want to see. Maybe take that video to the police department.

Stephen you must not have understood my original post. THE COPS DROVE PAST THEM. Not my city. It’s your problem you pay those officers that ignored those men. You elected the mayor that oversees that police department. They could of helped them. No way they didn’t see it period. I wonder if Mr Stutsman has directed those officers to overlook them like so many other Democrat mayors.

Paul what is it that you are exactly looking at. He doesn’t look any different than any other person. Please keep your negative thoughts to yourself. Did your parents not tell you when you were younger. “If you have nothing nice to say. Don’t say anything at all”?

Thank you Mayor Stutsman for working with CDC and taking proper precautions.
