Elkhart County businesses could begin seeing fines if they are caught repeatedly violating county mask mandate. Those fines could be as high as $5,000 a day. The ordinance, which starts December 10th, targets restaurants, retail stories, factories and other businesses.
It’s not just masks though, it includes ALL COVID-19 mitigation measures; for example maintaining 6ft of separation between tables at restaurants and submitting safety plans for large gatherings. A first offense would result in a warning, citations would begin if the problem isn’t fixed, and then a third or later offense the fines could hit the $5,000 max.
As stated in the official order:
“The intent of this Order is to mandate that all people in Elkhart County, whether engaged
in work activities, social activities, or everyday activities follow the directives outlined herein, to prevent the spread of COVID-19. This Order is necessary to slow the spread of COVID-19 throughout Elkhart County and protect public health.”

why is it the news about fines being handed out over covid-19 did’nt suprise me,or anyone else im sure.this whole covid thing is a bit carried away.It hard to recognise my Great Country anymore.Some days i just want to turn in my belly button & retire from the human race.
