Elkhart County Health Dept. expects COVID restrictions to be in place for a while

Elkhart County’s COVID-19 restrictions are likely to remain in place for a while.

Elkhart County Health Officer Dr. Bethany Wait told The Elkhart Truth that she doesn’t anticipate the county’s COVID-19 mitigation directives will be modified or lifted until 70% of its adult population has been vaccinated.

As of Monday only 2% had received the two doses.

The Health Department is unsure when 70% might happen due a number of different factors that come into play.

The county encourages those who are planning events to work with the Health Department to develop plans for safe events.

Unacceptable!! There probably aren’t that many people that WANT the vaccine, much less NEED it if they already have antibodies. Enough of the soft threats that we can’t open up, gather, work, shop, and travel as normal if we don’t comply. There is no government that can actually follow through on a promise of keeping us “safe” anyway–they only use it as a way to gain more control. Let people decide their own risks and live their own lives.

The current vaccines aren’t effective for one of the new strains of the Covid. ALSO, Moderna has said that their vaccine will only last for a year so it will have to be reapplied…. This isn’t about a virus that has a 99.79% survival rate, this is about control. Reach out to your representatives and stay open PEACEFULLY resist this nonsense. This is the only way we can put a stop to it.

Sounds like communism tacts, you people in Elkhart county need to file a lawsuit against the health dpt. there are alot of Amish who live in your county and I know they will not receive the shot ever. This is 100% WRONG. People in Elkhart county pull together and stop this ridiculousness now. This really is unbelievable, contact your federal congress people and representatives and if they want to be reelected they will listen to you and do the right thing. WOW!

If you allow government to take extra powers in times of crisis, then government will always invent a crisis to take extra power.
