According to New Buffalo Police, last Thursday, a vessel was being serviced by a maintenance employee when a 37-year-old Syracuse man was able to climb aboard.
This after allegedly impersonating a relative of the boats owner. When the owners arrived on Friday, their boat was gone, prompting a call to authorities.
According to ABC-57, Michigan State Police were notified on Saturday when the missing vessel was seen drifting near the Bridgeman and Lake Township boarder.
The boat was towed to a marina in St. Joseph to be processed for evidence and assessed for damages.
The Syracuse man is being held at the Berrien County Jail on initial charges of possession of stolen property.
