A new survey approved by the Michiana Area Council of Governments has been launched to explore broadband connectivity issues within the region.
Officials say the MACOG (May-Cog) survey aims to help leaders identify areas where broadband connections are weak and sometimes nonexistent.
On Wednesday the survey became live for residents in the area and will remain open until July 16.

MACOG is currently working with the Purdue Center for Regional Development on this project. The data from this survey will be used to create a report with the finds to make recommendation to service providers to offer expanded service and higher speed.

If you already know what you are going to ask, why bother with the report at all? Just ask for it.
Also, if the gooberment REALLY wanted to help broadband in the area, it would start laying municipal conduit and lease space to anyone who wanted to connect instead of granting “natural” monopolies to select companies. Why not have multiple cablecos or fiber ISPs in an area? (No kickbacks, that’s why.)
