As the infrastructure debate carries on in Congress, Indiana Sen. Todd Young is calling on the president to publicly support a bipartisan bill on the matter.
President Biden’s original proposal calls for $4 trillion dollars to be spent on traditional infrastructure as well as other things not usually tied to infrastructures, such as healthcare. The bipartisan compromise spends far less and focuses more on traditional infrastructure.
“We’re four-fifths of the way there,” Young said of the negotiations on MSNBC’s Morning Joe. “It takes a willingness to compromise. None of us think this is a perfect framework, but we like where we’re at.”
Now Young wants Biden to get behind the legislation and join the bipartisan group of 21 senators to support it. He said that will be the key in helping the bill pass in the Senate.
“He (Biden) needs to lean into this package,” Young said. “This bipartisan framework that we’ve got. He needs to bless it and he needs to encourage fellow Democrats to support it. If he does that I believe it will pass, both the House and the Senate, and the American people will have their infrastructure.”
Ideally, senators and the president would like to have a deal done before members of Congress leave for a summer break and return in mid-July. The White House has said that President Biden is committed to continuing talks with moderate Democrats and Republicans, but it is not certain that those talks will result in a deal.

Every trillion dollars is over $3000 in debt on behalf of every man, woman, and child in the US.

So Biden’s original proposal would cost a family of four $48000!
Does anyone feel they are getting their money’s worth? I think a lot of families would make better use of $48k than the minimal benefit they will see from this government grift.
Of course he endorses it, they all do because its not their money. Also, its just printed out of thin air so sure why stop at 4 trillion? lets do 100 trillion, it worked out really well for the Weimar republic.
