Generosity compels many of us to reach for our wallets when a national disaster strikes, or when someone we know or hear about is dealing with an emergency in their lives.

Although this desire to give is admirable, there are still people out there looking to scam your good nature. The Better Business Bureau recommends that you do some homework first.
