The state’s top doctors are frustrated because nearly half of the population who can get the vaccine have not done it. Now hospitals are having to put off some surgeries and procedures to take care of people who need hospitalization because of COVID-19.
“Forty-eight percent of our eligible population remains unvaccinated,” said Chief Medical Officer Dr. Lindsay Weaver, in an update from the state Dept. of Health, Friday. “That statistic allows the virus to continue to thrive and puts those who cannot yet be vaccinated at greatest risk.”
But, Weaver said there has been some improvement in the last week.
“We have noticed an increase in Hoosiers scheduling their vaccine,” she said. Weaver noted a ten percent increase in appointments.
Both Weaver and state Health Commissioner Dr. Kris Box said the state is having some trouble keeping up with the demand for testing. Box said that only ten percent of schools across the state reported being able to offer tests for students. The Dept. of Health is working to remedy that capacity issue.
Almost all of the new coronavirus activity is attributed to the Delta surge.
Weaver also said that guidance points to you getting a third dose of the vaccine, either Pfizer or Moderna, if you meet the following criteria: people undergoing treatment for cancer; recipients of solid organ or stem cell transplants; people with advanced or untreated HIV; and people who are taking certain medications that suppress the immune system.
Weaver also said you can expect information in the fall about a booster shot for anyone who has gotten the vaccine.
Both said the majority of people who have been hospitalized or who have died from COVID were not vaccinated.
Box said you are still going to be seeing large numbers of people testing positive for coronavirus for a while. She called this the darkest part of the pandemic.
“Unfortunately we have many more weeks of this high level of activity before we can expect this Delta surge to start declining.”

This is all BS and trying to keep fear alive there is no delta variant , you just want control over the people. These shots are death shots , so people are not going get them
These quacks are paid off by big pharma. They know this is a kill shot. People need to wake up and just say NO. The fake virus is not the problem, the kill shot is the problem. How can you have a varient of a virus that does’t exsist.
These shots (that are not in reality vaccines) have caused more deaths, and other terrible adverse events like neurological problems, blood clots, heart attacks, strokes, Bell’s palsy,etc. to be reported to VAERS in the past 8 months than from all other vaccines combined in over 20 years. They can push, coerce, threaten, lie all they want. We will not be getting these shots ever. I would much rather deal with the virus than risk taking these shots. And who on earth is running out and getting tested??? Our family has never been tested and will not do so.
I am frustrated at the schizophrenic comments made by so called “experts.” I will listen to my personal physician and no one else. about what is best for my health. Everyone else is on their own to do the same. stop listening to government or former government quacks. When was the last time this fool treated a patient in his office? Or is he a paper doctor pushing paper around?? I also find it very frustrating that none of these “experts” have any ability to recognize immunity by recovery which has been shown and is increasingly shown in studies to be better than any of the shots. By the way, these shots are not vaccines as the word has been understood for 150 years. Why? Because they do not prevent Covid-19 and there is relentless fearmongering over booster shots. Listen carefully to all the Obervaxenführers. They all say the Covid shot only minimizes your risk of a serious hospitalization. No one ever calls the flue shot a vaccine because you need one every year.
Besides, if these government doctors are so frustrated then perhaps they shouldn’t have lied so many times to The People.
People aren’t getting the shot because the bureaucrat activists have destroyed any faith in the institution of government. People DON’T TRUST you, Dr Box, and they certainly don’t trust the government you represent. The lies and deceit have come from the highest levels, and about a lot more things than just COVID.
Only a fool would still trust the government.
